| Obverse description | Central circular field enclosed by a raised inner ring bearing Arabic inscriptions arranged in three lines: the topmost line reads 'Al-Ghurfa' (name of the issuing state), the middle line reads '129' (an anagram for the ruler's given name Saleh) alongside ''Abdāt' (the ruler's family name), and the lower line reads '1344' (the Hijri year). The central field and inscriptions are framed by a wreath of two grain ears — wheat or millet — rising symmetrically from the base and terminating at the top of the design, with the outer rim bearing a continuous border of fine beading. |
