Obverse description A typeset letterpress emergency issue printed on plain white paper, with the date '15 Июня 1918 года' at the head of the note followed by the word 'уплачивается'. The numeral denomination '4 руб. 50 коп.' is centred in the field, with the amount in words 'Четыре рубля 50 к.' rendered in cursive script in the lower portion. A serial number fraction appears at the upper left, with no decorative vignette or guilloche elements, reflecting the rudimentary wartime production of this local Cossack issue.

Comments

The Urals Cossack Territory issued its own currency in 1918 as the Host government asserted administrative independence during the civil war period, when the collapse of central authority left regional and Cossack governments scrambling to maintain basic economic function. The 4½ rouble denomination is notably odd — fractional Cossack issues of this type were typically pegged to pre-revolutionary coin values, filling the gap left by hoarded silver and copper that had vanished from circulation entirely.

The Urals Host was eventually destroyed as a political entity by 1920, and surviving notes from this short-lived series are accordingly scarce.
