| Opmerkingen |
The 400 Yuan denomination is one of the more awkward figures in the Central Bank of China's wartime series — not a round number, not a prestige note, but a practical response to accelerating inflation that was rendering lower values nearly useless by mid-1945. The Central Printing Factory was under severe strain during this period, producing enormous quantities of notes across multiple denominations as the Nationalist government struggled to finance operations against both Japanese forces and the Communists.
Pick 281 is not a heavily documented issue, and surviving examples in any condition are less frequently encountered than the higher-profile denominations from the same year.
