The date '1813' appears below the numeral, flanked by decorative crosses. The circular Latin legend reads 'JOANNES D.G. PORT. ET BRAS. P. REGENS' around the periphery, separated from the inner design by a ring of evenly spaced beads. The overall composition is characteristic of the João Prince Regent coinage struck at the Rio de Janeiro mint. |
