The denomination 'Vierzig 40 Heller' is set in bold Gothic and Roman type across the upper section, flanked by horizontal ruling lines. A central text block in Gothic script explains that the amount constitutes a donation toward the repatriation and welfare of prisoner-of-war compatriots and is not redeemable.
