Opmerkingen

Innsbruck Notgeld from 1920 falls into the second wave of Austrian emergency currency — by this point the Heller denominations were being produced less out of genuine coin shortage and more to satisfy the already-voracious collector market that had developed around Notgeld issues across the German-speaking world. The Notgeld-Sammlerbund, a collectors' association rather than a municipal or commercial authority, issued this piece explicitly for that trade. Wagner was a well-established Tyrolean printing firm with roots in commercial and ecclesiastical work.

The distinction matters: notes issued by a Sammlerbund were never intended as functional emergency currency.
