| Opmerkingen |
Brandenberg is a small Tirolean village in the Inn valley, and its decision to issue notgeld in 1920 places it among the hundreds of Austrian municipalities that were forced to produce their own small-denomination emergency currency after the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left a severe coin shortage. The Wagner press in Innsbruck handled a substantial number of these local Tirolean issues, which accounts for the family resemblance across many valley-community notgeld of this period.
The 40 Heller denomination is specific to the JPR0099d variant within the Brandenberg series — the suffix letter indicating a distinct design or color separation from companion values.
