| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse, printed in matching purple-brown, is divided into an upper text panel and a lower signature strip. At upper left an oval vignette shows a chamois standing on a rocky alpine ledge; at upper right a companion oval presents wine barrels, a bottle, and glasses, symbolising local produce. Between them, two stanzas of verse are set in Gothic type — one attributed to Kobell and one in Styrian dialect attributed to Goldbacher — followed by a four-line rhyming collector's appeal. The lower section carries a panoramic underprint of snow-capped peaks above three manuscript signatures with their printed titles, and a final legal notice referencing the State Finance decree of 18 August 1920 prohibiting further issue of cash vouchers. |

Admont is best known as the home of one of the most celebrated monastic libraries in the world, but this note comes from the civil administration, not the abbey. It belongs to the vast wave of Austrian municipal Notgeld issued after the First World War, when the collapse of the Habsburg economy and a severe shortage of small-denomination coin forced thousands of local authorities to print their own emergency fractional currency. Emil Priebel in Steyr was a regional commercial printer, not a specialist banknote firm, which is exactly the kind of operation these cash-strapped municipalities could afford.
Three signatories authenticated each note — the mayor, his deputy, and the cashmaster — a procedural formality that became a minor administrative burden when multiplied across tens of thousands of printed pieces.
