| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned interlaced monogram 'CL' (for Christian Ludwig) within an olive wreath, surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of fourteen heraldic shields representing the various territories and titles of the duchy, each shield surmounted by a crown. The shields are arranged symmetrically across the entire field, separated by foliate ornaments. At the bottom, the denomination '4' and mintmaster's initials 'LW' are inscribed. The outer border consists of a decorative beaded or cable pattern, with the Latin motto legend 'SINCERE ET CONSTANTER' and the date 'ANNO 1663' running around the periphery. |
