| 正面描述 | Central field occupied by the quartered Royal Arms of Spain, displaying castles and lions in alternating quarters, surmounted by an arched crown. To the left of the shield, the aqueduct mintmark of Segovia appears above the assayer's initial 'B' (or 'R'), while the denomination mark 'R' appears to the right. The circular Latin legend reads CAROLVS II D G HISPANIAR REX, distributed around the periphery, interrupted by small fleur-de-lis or star ornaments. The entire design is struck by the roller mill technique, imparting characteristic flat relief and a slightly oval flan. The coin's toothed border is well defined. |

| 背面描述 | The reverse is dominated by a large, ornate crowned double 'M' monogram — the so-called 'Maria' cipher — in bold interlaced letters occupying the central field, a devotional reference to the Virgin Mary. Above the monogram a floriated cross pattée is prominently displayed. To either side of the cross appear the denomination indicators 'R' and '4'. The date, here reading 1691 (the latest documented year for this issue), is placed in the lower portion of the field. The circular Latin legend VIRTVTE ET PROTECTIONE runs around the periphery, separated by small ornamental stops, within a reeded border. |
