| Descrizione del dritto | Central field displays the crowned Royal Arms of Spain within a baroque shield, quarterly with castles and lions, featuring the Granada pomegranate at base. The assayer initial 'D' and mint mark 'Mo' appear to the left of the shield, with the denomination mark to the right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the legend LVDOVICVS I D G HISPAN ET IND REX distributed around the periphery. The royal crown surmounts the shield in high relief, characteristic of the cob-style hammered coinage of the Mexico City Mint. The coin bears a suspension hole above the crown, indicating later use as a pendant. |
