The quartered escutcheon shows the castles of Castile and the lions of León, with partial legend PHILIPVS V DEI G and the date distributed around the shield as permitted by the irregular planchet. Strike quality and flan shape vary considerably from piece to piece, as is standard for this coinage type. |
