The legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA arcs along the upper periphery, separated from the field by a beaded border. The lower exergual area bears the mint and denomination inscription 4S·1830·J·L, identifying the Potosí mint, denomination of four soles, date of issue, and assayer initials. The reeded edge and overall fabric are consistent with Bolivian silver coinage of the early republican period. |
