| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate and draped bust of Charles II facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair and armoured shoulder pauldron visible beneath the drapery. A thistle mintmark appears above the bust toward the upper left field. The portrait is executed in a bold Baroque style characteristic of Scottish milled coinage of the Restoration period. The obverse legend is interrupted by the bust and reads CAROLVS II DEI GRA, disposed around the periphery with an inner beaded border and an outer reeded rim. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays the Royal Arms of Scotland arranged in cruciform fashion, with the quarters bearing the arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland respectively. Conjoined back-to-back Cs, forming decorative monograms, appear in each angle of the cross. The denomination value is displayed in the centre of the arrangement. The peripheral legend, separated by stops, reads MAG BRI FRA ET HIB REX followed by the date 1664, all within a beaded inner border. |
