Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Charles II facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair and armoured shoulder pauldron visible beneath the drapery. A thistle mintmark appears above the bust toward the upper left field. The portrait is executed in a bold Baroque style characteristic of Scottish milled coinage of the Restoration period.
