| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Chilean national coat of arms at center, comprising a vertically divided shield bearing a five-pointed star, supported on the dexter by a rampant horse wearing a crown and on the sinister by a condor with spread wings, also crowned. A palm tree rises above the shield as a crest, and a decorative foliate scroll appears below as a base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE arcs along the upper periphery, with the mint mark 'S' visible near the lower right, flanked by two small rosette stops and the date 1836 prominently placed at the base of the field. |
