| Opis rewersu | A symmetrical Baroque cartouche of elaborate scrollwork, featuring foliated volutes at the sides and an ornamental finial at the top, encloses the four-line devotional Latin inscription. A single prominent ball or boss ornament appears at the base of the cartouche, anchoring the design. The lettering is boldly struck in raised roman capitals across four lines within the cartouche field, conveying the pious motto of the Bernese republic. The overall composition is characteristic of the refined Swiss gold coinage of the late 18th century. |
