Obverse description Central field features the royal emblem of Travancore — the conch shell (shankha) surmounted by a stylised crown — enclosed within a raised inner circle. A wreath of olive or palm branches frames the central device, with the two sprays joined at the base by a ribbon bow. The entire design is bordered by a beaded outer rim, lending the piece a formal, heraldic character typical of late princely-state issues.

Reverse description The central field displays the interlaced royal cypher of Maharaja Chithira Thirunal Bala Rama Varma II, rendered as an elaborate monogram set within a dotted inner circle. The legend 'FOUR CASH' arcs across the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals, while the Malayalam equivalent 'നാലു കാശു' occupies the lower arc. Two small floral or rosette ornaments flank the cypher at the mid-field, and the entire design is enclosed by a prominent beaded rim consistent with the obverse border style.
