| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of King Christian VII facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The king's hair is elaborately dressed in the late 18th-century fashion, tied at the nape with a ribbon and curled at the sides. A small mint-master mark 'B' appears at the base of the bust. The circular Latin legend surrounding the effigy reads CHRISTIANVS VII D G DANN NOR V G REX, denoting his royal titles as King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths by the Grace of God. |
