Reverse description Central field bears a three-line Arabic legend recording the mint and Hijri date of striking, arranged in a bold calligraphic composition. The inscription is framed on the right side by a prominent olive branch with berries, tied at the base with a decorative bow, a motif emblematic of Tunisian coinage of this period. The remaining field is left relatively open, giving prominence to the mint and date inscription. The overall design is consistent across the several annual emissions struck between AH 1263 and AH 1269, differing principally in the date numeral.
