| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait bust of President El Hadj Ahmadou Ahidjo facing left, rendered in high relief at center. His name 'El Hadj A. Ahidjo' is inscribed in cursive script beneath the portrait in the field. The bilingual circular legend surrounding the effigy reads 'REPUBLIQUE FEDERALE DU CAMEROUN' on the left and 'FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON' on the right.
