Above the central device, the national coat of arms of Cameroon is displayed, featuring a shield surmounted by two crossed fasces and flanked by ornamental supporters. The bilingual commemorative inscription '10e ANNIVERSAIRE DE L'INDEPENDANCE / 10th ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE' arcs through the central field in two lines. The border is composed of an intricate chain-link pattern interspersed with two traditional shield motifs on each side.
