Obverse description The coat of arms of the Republic of Chad occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by a lion passant to the right and a goat to the left, with a rising sun above the shield. A ribbon below the supporters bears the national motto in three parts. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the date 2019, while the denomination 3000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower arc. The field is smooth and the design is rendered in high relief against a reeded border.

Additional information

This piece belongs to a peculiar modern phenomenon: the African sovereign gold micro-coin, issued under licensing arrangements with European bullion distributors rather than driven by any domestic monetary need. Chad's participation in these programs is largely nominal — the franc CFA zone itself is administered by the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale, leaving individual member states with limited independent minting tradition. At 0.06 grams, the gold content is fractional to the point of near-symbolism.

The Germania Mint, based in Poland, produces these under agreement with issuing governments across francophone Africa. Fr#14 in the Friedberg supplement reflects how recently catalogers began tracking this output seriously.
