| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the original Brazilian 320 Réis host coin design: a crowned imperial arms within an ornate shield at center, surrounded by radiating crossed scepters and a wreath, with the circular legend 'STAB. SUBQ. NATA. IGN.' around the periphery. Applied over the shield is the rectangular crowned 'G.P.' countermark, punched in 1887 by the Azorean authorities to revalue and authorize circulation of the Brazilian host coin at 300 Réis. The reeded border of the host coin is visible at the rim. |
