| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely unifacial, presenting a plain, unstruck field with no design, legend, or device of any kind. The flat, featureless surface reflects the emergency nature of this issue, in which only a single die was applied to one face of the silver klippe planchet. The rough, porous texture visible across the blank reverse is consistent with the crude production methods employed at the Recife mint in 1654. |
