The year 1689 appears at the top of the field within the legend, and the circumferential Latin legend reads MAG·BR·FRA·ET·HIB·REX·, the whole enclosed within a raised beaded rim. The month and year combination served as the unique dating convention distinctive to the Gun Money coinage series. |
