| Obverse description | Printed in dark red and blue on a cream-coloured card stock with a fine stippled guilloche border. The issuer's name "Herzoglich Braunschweigische Sparkasse" appears in large Gothic script across the upper portion, beneath a header line stating the note is issued to the bearer. Denomination numerals "30 M" occupy the upper left and right corners, with the value written out in Gothic script — "dreißig Mark" — within a ruled central panel. Series and serial number designations appear to the left and right respectively, with place and date "Braunschweig, am 1. Novbr. 1918" printed in blue, accompanied by two manuscript signatures and a large circular official cancellation stamp in violet. A bold blue overprint reads "Unverzinslicher Kriegsnotgeld" across the lower centre. |

The reverse is divided into two main sections: the left column is ruled for recording annual interest payments ("Jahreszinsen sind gezahlt") with blank lines for date, amount, and order number entries. The right portion contains a tabular interest-rate schedule headed "Zinsen auf 30 M Einlage", listing accrued interest in Pfennig for deposit periods of one to twelve months across four rate columns (3%, 3½%, 3¾%, and 4%).
