30 Heller Goldwörth

Goldwörth is a small Upper Austrian village on the Danube, and its decision to issue emergency currency in 1920 reflects the near-total collapse of small-change supply that plagued rural Austria in the years immediately following the empire's dissolution. The Heller, the smallest unit of the old Austro-Hungarian krone, was essentially worthless individually — yet towns like Goldwörth were printing it because coins had simply vanished from local commerce, hoarded or melted down.
