正面铭文 30 GOVERNMENT OF ANTIGUA & BARBUDA 30 INDEPENDENCE NOVEMBER 1981 Minister of Finance 30 THIRTY DOLLARS 30
背面描述 The reverse, also executed in embossed gold foil relief on a dark ground, carries a central vignette of tropical flora and fauna: a Jacaranda tree in bloom dominates the centre, its feathery fronds and clusters of flowers rendered in fine detail, while a Zebra Butterfly rests to the lower right and a second large butterfly occupies the left foreground. Decorative laurel and floral borders line the lateral margins, with denomination numerals "30" in oval cartouches at each corner and the legend "THIRTY DOLLARS" inscribed in a rectangular panel along the lower edge.

备注

Antigua and Barbuda gained independence from Britain on 1 November 1981, and this $30 gold foil note was issued to mark that occasion — the denomination itself chosen to correspond with the date. The practice of issuing non-standard denominations tied to independence anniversaries was common across the Eastern Caribbean in this period, and Antigua followed it faithfully.

Gold foil "notes" of this type were never intended for circulation. They occupy an awkward category — part souvenir, part numismatic product — and were sold directly to collectors at or near face value.
