| Reverse description | A faithful recreation of William Wyon's celebrated 1839 Una and the Lion design, depicting a crowned and draped Queen Victoria as Una, striding in three-quarter view to the left whilst guiding a majestic lion with her right hand. The composition is closely based on the original Gothic Five Pounds pattern, with the lion walking obediently at her side across a plain groundline. The motto DIEU ET MON DROIT is inscribed in the upper field, flanking the central group, with the Roman numeral date MMXIX and the denomination THIRTY DOLLARS inscribed below in two lines near the base of the design, all within a finely reeded border. |

| Additional information |
The "Una and the Lion" design originates from William Wyon's 1839 pattern crown, produced to mark Victoria's coronation but never released for circulation — considered too fine for everyday use. The original piece is one of the most celebrated British pattern coins ever struck. This 2019 issue revives that composition for the young Elizabeth II, pairing it with the British Virgin Islands' authority to issue commemorative coinage under Crown dependency arrangements that have made the territory a reliable vehicle for prestige bullion programs since the 1970s.
At 155.52 g, this is a five-troy-ounce format — the weight itself is the specification worth noting.
