| Obverse description | Bare or draped bust of Augustus facing left, rendered in a provincial style characteristic of Mauretanian civic coinage of the Augustan period. The portrait occupies the central field with a broad, rounded profile, the facial features now heavily worn and partially obscured by extensive encrustation and patination. A partial Latin legend is distributed around the periphery, reading A POMP MI, representing abbreviated names of local magistrates. The flan is irregular and slightly ovate, consistent with hand-hammered provincial production. |
