The architectural composition showcases the cathedral's distinctive conical domes, arched windows, and ornate stonework, with a decorative Armenian khachkar cross depicted in the upper left field. The denomination 30100 in large numerals appears in the lower field, accompanied by the bilingual legend ԴՐԱՄ DRAM beneath. The circular legend reads ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ to the left and REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA to the right, with the date 2020 inscribed at the lower right periphery. |

Holy Etchmiadzin, outside Vagharshapat, is generally accepted as the oldest state-built church in the world, constructed after Armenia's adoption of Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD — the first nation to do so. The Central Bank's large-format silver issues in this series have typically commemorated sites on Armenia's UNESCO World Heritage list; Etchmiadzin received that designation in 2000 alongside the archaeological remains at Zvartnots.
At a kilogram of .999 silver struck to 100mm, these pieces are produced in very limited quantities and trade almost exclusively among specialist collectors of Armenian numismatica rather than through mainstream channels.
