Cold Dew (寒露) marks the 17th of the 24 solar terms in the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, falling around October 8th each year. The solar terms system, formalized during the Han dynasty and inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2016, structured agricultural life across China for over two millennia — dictating planting, harvesting, and seasonal preparation with a precision that western almanac traditions rarely matched.
