The text begins with NAT. XXIV. AUG. AN. M.DCI.VII and records biographical details, his betrothal, untimely death on IX August, and concludes with verses of mourning: PARENTIBVS FAMILIAE PATRIAE VT QVONDAM SPES AMOR ET DELI... SIC NVNC LVCTUS LACRYMAEQVE ET DESO-LATIO. The inscription fills the entire flan with no central image, the text arranged in evenly spaced horizontal lines. A reeded border frames the entire reverse. |
