| Aversbeschreibung | At center, the State Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is rendered in high relief within a beaded inner circle, below which the semicircular legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) appears in the field. The outer rim bears inscriptions divided by dots indicating the denomination ТРИ РУБЛЯ (Three Roubles) and the year of issue 2012, interspersed with the metal designation Ag 925, the fine metal content 31,1, and the Moscow Mint monogram ММД. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse presents a panoramic arctic landscape of Wrangel Island, with a detailed mountain range rendered in incuse line work across the mid-field. In the upper portion, a Snowy Owl is depicted in full flight with wings outstretched, soaring above the terrain; the curved legend ОСТРОВ ВРАНГЕЛЯ (Wrangel Island) arcs along the upper rim. In the lower foreground, a finely detailed Atlantic Walrus emerges in high relief, its prominent tusks and textured hide rendered naturalistically. To the lower right, the EAEC (Eurasian Economic Community) logo appears as an engraved mark in the field. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Wrangel Island sits in the Arctic Ocean north of Siberia, administered as a nature reserve since 1976 and one of the last known refuges of the woolly mammoth — dwarf populations survived there until roughly 1650 BC, millennia after extinction on the mainland. Russia has issued collector coins tied to its Arctic territories with some regularity, and this piece fits squarely into the CBR's ongoing natural monuments and protected zones program, which has produced hundreds of issues since the 1990s.
