| Obverse description | At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia with wings lowered occupies the field, encircled by a ring of beads. The upper legend along the rim reads `ТРИ РУБЛЯ` (THREE ROUBLES), while the lower portion carries, from left to right, the precious metal designation and fineness, the year of issue `2015 г.`, and the fine metal content followed by the Saint Petersburg Mint mark `СПМД`. The overall design conforms to the standard Bank of Russia obverse type for commemorative silver issues of this period. |

| Reverse description | The mirror-finish field features a composite view of notable historical and cultural landmarks of the city of Elista, capital of the Republic of Kalmykia. To the right stands the Three Lotuses Fountain, while to the left are depicted the Chess Palace and the Buddhist Syakusn-Sume Temple. Above the architectural composition, the coat of arms of Elista is prominently displayed, beneath which the inscription `ОСНОВАН В 1865 ГОДУ` (FOUNDED IN 1865) appears in an arc. The city name `ЭЛИСТА` is inscribed along the upper rim, completing the design. |
