备注

Riksens Ständers Wäxel-Banque — the Estates of the Realm's Exchange Bank — was a peculiar institution by any standard: a central bank governed directly by the Swedish parliament rather than the crown, a structure that survived from 1668 until the formation of Sveriges Riksbank in 1866. Notes of this series carry both Swedish and Finnish text, reflecting Finland's status as a Grand Duchy under the Russian tsar following the 1809 cession, while Swedish remained the language of Finnish administration and commerce.

The bilingual titling is the telling detail here. Finland had its own monetary arrangements developing in parallel, and the overlap in circulating instruments during this period created persistent bookkeeping headaches for merchants operating across the Gulf of Bothnia.
