| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a large, boldly struck numeral '3' in the centre, denoting the denomination of three piccioli, enclosed within an oval shield surmounted by a crown. A beaded or decorative inner border surrounds the shield, with the circular Latin legend running along the periphery of the coin. The overall design is characteristic of the small copper coinage of the Knights Hospitaller under Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt. The flan is irregular and shows green verdigris patination typical of hammered copper issues of this era. |
