| 背面描述 | The denomination and issuing authority are expressed entirely through inscriptions arranged in five horizontal lines across the field. The numeral 'III' appears at the top, flanked by decorative stops, followed by 'PFENNING', then the abbreviated titles 'F.A.B.L.M.' (Fürst zu Anhalt, Bernburg, etc.), the date '1744' below, and the mintmaster's initials 'I.H.S.' at the base. The lettering is bold and deeply struck, with full stops separating the abbreviated elements, all enclosed within a plain beaded border. |

Victor II Friedrich ruled Anhalt-Bernburg for less than three years, dying in 1765 after a reign marked by financial strain common to the smaller Saxon principalities following the wars of the early eighteenth century. Billon issues of this type — debased silver-copper alloy — were a practical concession to depleted treasury reserves, not a deliberate monetary policy. Anhalt-Bernburg's coinage rights as an independent principality were exercised sparingly, making short-dated issues like this two-year run relatively scarce in any grade.
