The monogram is surmounted by an ecclesiastical Electoral crown topped with a cross. Below the monogram, a crossed sword and scepter — symbols of temporal and spiritual authority — are superimposed over the six-spoked wheel of Mainz, the heraldic emblem of the archbishopric. The coin rim is bordered by a continuous milled or rope-like decorative edge. |
