The central vignette, again signed by König-Eschede, presents a foot-race scene in ochre tones, with a male runner breaking through a finish line flanked by a woman and child before a stylised townscape and radiating sky. Winged mythological figures occupy the upper corners, while reclining putti appear at the lower corners amid wave-like ornamental borders, and the word 'WETTLAUFEN' is inscribed prominently along the lower edge of the central panel. |
