Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is rendered in a vivid multicolour lithographic style, with a sweeping panoramic vignette of Radolfzell am Bodensee occupying the central field, showing the town's rooftops, church steeple, harbour jetties, and the broad expanse of Lake Constance backed by alpine mountains, all beneath a radiant golden sun. Tall sheaves of wheat border the composition on either side, while a scroll banner at the top carries the town name 'Radolfzell am Bodensee' flanking the large red denomination numeral '3' with 'MARK' below. A dark lower panel contains the denomination '3 MARK' repeated at left and right, with a four-line poetic verse in Gothic script attributed to Victor von Scheffel centred between them.

Opmerkingen

Radolfzell, a small town on the southern shore of the Bodensee, issued this note during the peak of Germany's Kleingeldersatz crisis, when the collapse of coin circulation forced hundreds of municipalities to print their own fractional currency. Stähle & Friedel in Stuttgart handled an enormous volume of such commissions from southwestern German towns in 1921, producing workmanlike results on short deadlines for issuers with no standing relationship with major security printers.

The DeNG reference places this among three catalogued variants for the series, distinguished by minor typographic or color differences — collectors should verify which variant is in hand before pricing.
