Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg surmounted by an archiepiscopal hat, the shield incorporating the Salzburg lion and orb motifs in their respective quarters, all within an ornate cartouche with foliate scroll supporters. The circumferential Latin legend reads WOLF TEOD D G AREPS SAL A S L, identifying Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau as Archbishop of Salzburg by the grace of God. The entire design is enclosed within a ropetwist border.

Reverse description The reverse presents a frontal enthroned figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, vested in full episcopal robes and wearing a mitre, his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding a crozier or book. The numeral 3, indicating the denomination of three Kreuzer, appears prominently at the base of the design below the saint's feet. The surrounding Latin legend S RVDBERT EPS SALZBR identifies the saint as Bishop Rupert of Salzburg. The composition is enclosed within a ropetwist border consistent with the obverse.
