Maria Theresa's hold on Hungary was legally complicated from the start — the Pragmatic Sanction that allowed her to inherit had never been tested, and her early reign saw Bavarian and French forces briefly occupy Prague. Hungarian noble support, secured in part through concessions at the 1741 Diet of Pressburg, proved decisive. These small silver kreuzers circulated through a kingdom whose loyalty had been purchased, not assumed.
The span across H#1730, H#1731, and H#1732 reflects documented die and mint variations across the fifteen-year run — Kremnitz being the primary Hungarian mint responsible for the bulk of this output.
