Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold II facing right, with flowing hair tied at the back, rendered in a neoclassical style. The emperor's effigy is well-modelled with fine portraiture detail typical of late 18th-century Habsburg coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock. The mint mark letter appears below the bust in the lower field.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the centre of the coin, with wings spread and the numeral '3' on a shield on the eagle's breast denoting the face value. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, commencing at approximately 1 o'clock, with the date appearing at the end of the legend. The crown above the eagle is of the Habsburg imperial type, and the overall design is characteristic of Austrian coinage of the late 18th century.
