| Obverse description | Draped bust of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I facing right, the effigy breaking the inner circle at the top. The numeral '3' denoting the face value appears below the portrait within the circle. A Latin legend commencing at 12 o'clock reads around the periphery, identifying the ruler by name and title. The portrait is rendered in the high-relief Baroque style typical of the Kuttenberg mint's output of this period. |

| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the centre, without sceptre or sword in the talons, bearing on its breast a crowned flat-topped shield charged with the lion of Bohemia. The entire eagle device is contained within an inner circle. The regnal date appears to the left of the crown surmounting the eagle's heads. The mintmark of Kuttenberg — an arm holding a miner's hammer — is placed in the exergual legend below the inner circle, with the Latin royal titulature continuing around the periphery. |
