3 Kreuzers - Charles VI Vienna

Charles VI spent much of his reign consumed by the Pragmatic Sanction — the diplomatic instrument he needed European powers to recognize so his daughter Maria Theresa could inherit the Habsburg lands. The small silver kreuzers minted through these decades were workhorses of everyday commerce while their sovereign negotiated endlessly with foreign courts, spending treasury resources on guarantees that largely collapsed the moment he died in 1740.

The Vienna mint produced these across a nineteen-year span under multiple die-cutters, and minor variation in the orb and crown punches is documented within the KM#1606 type.
