背面描述 A standing female allegorical figure, personifying the province of West Friesland or Liberty, occupies the center of the field in high relief. She is draped in flowing robes and holds aloft a hat or liberty cap on a long staff in her raised right hand, while her left arm rests upon an ornate cartouche or altar bearing decorative elements. Her hair is elaborately dressed in the late Baroque fashion. The circular legend HAC NITIMVR HANC TVEMVR (meaning 'On her we lean, her we protect') frames the figure within a finely milled border.

附加信息

West Friesland's piedfort issues of the 1680s were not struck for circulation but as presentation pieces — formal gifts exchanged between civic authorities, foreign dignitaries, and the States themselves. The double-weight format was a deliberate signal of institutional seriousness, the extra silver serving as a kind of material argument for the issuing body's financial credibility at a moment when Dutch provincial autonomy and monetary politics were under persistent pressure from the centralizing ambitions of the States-General.

The Delmonte reference places this among the documented but genuinely scarce piedfort survivors from the provincial Dutch series. Very few examples are traceable through auction records.
