Obverse description Central field dominated by the crowned arms of West Friesland, displaying a quartered shield with rampant lions in the upper quarters and a walking lion in the base, all surmounted by an elaborate foliate crown. The denomination numeral '3' appears to the left of the shield and the letter 'G' to the right. The circular legend reads MO . NO : ARGENT . ORDIN . WESTF . 1682 3 G, distributed around the periphery, with the date 1682 prominently positioned above the crown. The coin is struck on a broad, irregular flan with a milled border, characteristic of piedfort pieces of the period.
