Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Ernst Johann von Biron facing right, depicted in armored or mantled attire with visible detail to the drapery and shoulder. The effigy is rendered in a baroque portrait style typical of mid-18th century German ducal coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, running along the rim of the coin field.
